locations were Nant Gwynant and Llyn Gwynant near Beddgelert. Other
scenes were filmed at Pen Y Pass, Moel Siabod, Fynnon Llugwy and the
Alexandra Slate Quarry near Carmel where a 100ft drop down a cliff was
filmed. A motorbike race was filmed and along and near a "Great Wall
of China" which was filmed at Pen y Pass with the wall being created using
CGI. Originally many of these scenes were meant to be
filmed in China but the authorities refused permission.
