Swimming Wild!

There is huge interest at the moment in wild swimming - swimming in unspoiled locations and we've had several questions about where to go. Below are some suggestions and links. We can't comment on the safety or suitability of any of these locations, they are just suggestions that can be investigated. Research and caution is needed. Local knowledge may help. If you have any more to add to this list please let us know. (info@cadairviewlodge.co.uk).

Ideas from Daily Post HERE

Llyn Mair near to Tan y Bwlch station (on the Ffestiniog line). Lake swimming.

Llandecwyn almost opposite Llandecwyn station. Off road parking then through kissing gate onto beach. Tidal estuary so don't know about currents. There appeared to be people in water when we passed.

Pont Dol-y-mynach over the hill at the back of the cabins (What3Words it's ///extra.pure.sprayer)

This is a pool near a bridge which my children used to swim in but after some big storms brought debris down from the mountains I'm not sure of its safety.

Soul Dippers in Barmouth a group that swims most days. The advantage of swimming with them is that they have local knowledge of the best time to go in and where. Find them on their Facebook group HERE
