Wherever I lay my laptop....

When the pandemic hit I found myself stuck at home with three bored and fractious kids. For months. And months. I won't go into the details but it very nearly broke me, and when restrictions were lifted the first thing I did was rent an office in Dolgellau for a while so I could just get out of the house! I wasn't really any more productive there, but it was peaceful and quiet and it was just what I needed at the time.

When my lease ended I treated myself to the best laptop I could afford so that if I needed to escape again I could jump in the car and pretty much work anywhere. This morning I have 2 hours to kill so I've set my stall up in a local cafe (yes, it's a big chain and ridiculously expensive, but the WiFi is reliable, it's open 2 hours before everywhere else and it employs lovely local people so I'm ok with that today). As well as a bit of blogging I'll be updating the 2025 cabin prices and scheduling some social media posts for the coming week.

Most importantly I can't get distracted by a huge pile of ironing, people knocking on the door, the washing, the dishes or the thousand and one other little jobs that compete for my attention at home.

Most of our cabins have private WiFi and the mobile signal is generally very good, with a relay mast on the hill above the site and another just down the valley. They're an ideal place to finish that report or dissertation without interruptions and distractions. Or an ideal writer's retreat. Or somewhere to finally sit down and write that business plan, or CV, or grant application with a looming deadline.

And when you've finished that you can reward yourself with a walk in our fresh mountain air straight from the door. Or treat yourself in one of our local cafes and restaurants.

It's something to think about, isn't it. What could YOU achieve in a few days with no distractions?
